Im Rahmen des Englisch-Unterrichts hat die Klasse SB2c diverse Menschen interviewt, die nicht ihr ganzes Leben in der Schweiz verbracht haben, sondern im Ausland aufgewachsen sind. Entstanden sind lesenswerte Porträts, von denen vier in der Originalfassung hier zu lesen sind.

She grew up in Slovakia in the village of Bardejov with her brother, father, mother, grandmother and grandfather. She lived there for 32 years. She had a beautiful, fun, happy, nature-loving childhood. She could not imagine a more beautiful childhood.
IMMIGRATION
In October 2006 She came to Switzerland. She came to Switzerland because of her great love for her current husband. She finds it very beautiful here in Switzerland especially the nature.
INTEGRATION
In Slovakia she found work more quickly because she had graduated as a teacher and worked as a teacher for 9 years. She loves both countries. Switzerland is very dear to her because of her family and children. In Slovakia still live her parents and relatives. She is in five associations, she participates everywhere, volunteers, works with the children and is everywhere when something is going on in the village. It was easy for her to integrate because she was already very active in Slovakia. She feels very comfortable here in Switzerland.
EVERYDAY LIFE
In everyday life she is in the garden, does the housework, works 2-3 times a week and takes care of her children. Her favorite occupation are garden work, decorating, handcrafts, singing, baking, cooking, travelling, being in the woods, being with friends, walking with children and everything that everyday life brings her.

Ariona was born in Macedonia. She grew up there and went to school. After Ariona finished 8th grade she started the apprenticeship as a dressmaker. She practiced there for 1 year and with the age of 16 Ariona and her family moved to Switzerland.
IMMIGRATION
She was really happy to come to Switzerland since it was her dream and that she’s gonna see her dad again. Ariona’s dad already moved to Switzerland and worked there for his family so Ariona and her family couldn’t see him often.
INTEGRATION
She says that it’s easier here to get a job than in Macedonia and that life is better here in Switzerland. Ariona started to go to school again and learnt German. She made friends really fast and they got along pretty well together.
It was kinda hard for her to communicate with the people here but going to school again helped her a lot to know the language better. Ariona feels comfortable living here in Switzerland.
EVERYDAY LIFE
Ariona stays at home and does the chores since she doesn’t work anymore.
She used to work in a factory after she finished highschool here for the second time. Ariona got along with the workers there aswell. And she also likes to read in her freetime.

My Neighbour comes from the Münsterland. Since 2013/14 she is officially at home in Switzerland. She came to Switzerland at the time, because she fell in love with a Swiss man.

In 2013 she came to Switzerland and 2014 she lived officially in Switzeralnd. She moved to Switzerland alone without her children. She moved to Switzerland by car and it wasn’t easy for her to change countries, because she researched what is and isn’t allowed in Switzerland.
INTEGRATION
She was looking for work in Switzerland, in January 2014, and had an employment contract in April 2014. She likes it very much in Switzerland but also misses her homeland.
EVERYDAY LIFE
She mainly works and in her free time she enjoys sport, swimming and jogging. She also enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and had no trouble finding friends and colleagues.

He has been in switzerland for six years. His mother tongue is English. He grew up in Wichita, Kansas. He just doesn't know the native language as well as he used to. He grew up with his adoptive parents.
IMMIGRATION
He lived in America in the countryside and it was mostly very stressful but also very quiet. He lived there for about ten years. He came to Switzerland because his father had to go to prison and his mother died.
He finds it very tense here in Switzerland because people are arrogant and stressful. When he changed the country it was very fast for him and he realized it only a few weeks to be here.
INTEGRATION
He came here by plane. In America, it was easier to find work for him. For him, it's nicer in America. He is integrating well now but it was hard for him before. He doesn't feel so comfortable here in.
EVERYDAY LIFE
It is easy for him to integrate. In his daily life, he mainly works. In his free time he likes to be outside with his friends or he is at home watching football. He very much enjoys producing music in his spare time. He works as a bicycle mechanic and is based in Bern.
